This sign is not made of steel but is built to look like it is. Much lighter and easier to hang. She is built like a movie prop, with a wooden inner structure sheeted in aluminum and composite material. Then weathered by hand with real rust and various paint techniques to give that old vintage look. She is double sided and built to resemble the old neon sign cans of the era. Her tail was broken at some point, but as you can see in the pictures, it just adds to the character.
